Privacy Policy

This is a plain-English summary of what The Fifth Pint collects, why, and what we do with it. Read it along with our Terms of Service.

What we collect

• Account info — your email (for magic-link sign-in) and a random user ID.
• Conversation content — the topics you submit and the responses generated, stored so we can improve the experience and debug issues.
• Usage metadata — timestamps, tier, which buttons you clicked (beer/teddy/window). No mouse tracking.
• Rate limit signals — a hashed IP bucket used only to prevent abuse. We do not store raw IP addresses in our database.
• Billing info — handled entirely by Stripe. We only see your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never your card details.

Why we collect it

To run the Service: authenticate you, apply tier limits, provide support, charge for subscriptions, and improve the conversation engine. That's it.

Who else sees your data

• LLM providers — Anthropic, Google, and similar. When you ask a question, the content is sent to one or more model providers to generate the response. They have their own privacy policies and retention windows.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Supabase — our database and auth provider.
• Cloudflare — our hosting provider.

We do not sell your data to advertisers. We do not share your conversations with third parties beyond the providers needed to run the site.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie/localStorage entry to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, no ad pixels.

Retention

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hi@thefifthpint.com. When you do, your profile row, conversations, and stored messages are deleted within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate stats may be kept longer.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 we will delete it.

Changes

We'll update this page when things change. Material changes will be announced on the site or via email.
